Jami
Masters is a graduate
of Missouri State University with a Dance Education Degree.
She has been teaching children to dance for over 30 years.
Jami has owned and operated JMSD in Charlotte for more
than 20 years. She has performed with a repertory company
and continues to study with renowned dance professionals
around the United States. She also enjoys choreographing
musical theatre productions for children and volunteering
her talents to the Charlotte area schools. Jami is a member
of Dance Masters of America, Inc. and serves on the Board
of Directors for Carolina Dance Masters, Inc. |

Ron Chisholm has performed in every type of entertainment medium: Broadway, 11 productions at Radio City Music Hall, Cruise Ships, Theme Parks, videos, TV, Industrials and Movies. He began dancing at the age of 5 and performed in South Florida with his five brothers. Ron has performed with Carol Burnett, Dolly Parton, Liberace, Ben Vereen, The Pointer Sisters and Juliet Prouse among many others. He has directed and choreographed over 100 musicals around the country. |

Kristin
Jacobs Topolnak attended the
Juilliard School in 1996 and in New York with the Purchase
Dance Conservatory. She has performed in North Carolina with
the Asheville Civic Ballet and in New York with the Purchase
Conservatory Corps. She has a B.A. in Dance Education from
UNCC. This is her 8th year with JMSD where she teaches hip
hop, ballet, pointe, jazz, modern and tap. Kristen is the
head of the Dance Dept. at Ardrey Kell High School. |

Susan
Thorsland has a BFA in Dance
from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and an
MFA in Dance from Florida State University. She received
her K-12 certification in Dance from UNCC and currently heads
the ballet department at Northwest School of the Arts. She
has performed with Second Avenue Ballet Company in NYC, The
Tallahassee Ballet, The Raleigh Ballet, and The Asheville
Ballet. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for
the Charlotte Youth Ballet as School Coordinator, and on
the Education Committe for North Carolina Dance Theatre.
This is Susan's 11th year at JMSD where she teaches advanced
ballet and pointe and pilates. |

Elizabeth Dewey is
a graduate of the Conservatory of Performing Arts in Point
Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received a BA
in Dance with a concentration in ballet. Elizabeth attended
Point Park on a dance and presidential academic scholarship.
While there she performed in many ballets and various dance
performances. This is Elizabeth’s fifth year teaching
at JMSD and she looks forward to many exciting years to come. |

Julie
A. Chapnick spent years in New York City as a dance student, teacher and performer. She received a BFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where she had the privilege of working with world renowned choreographers and teachers alike. She went on to earn an MA in Dance and Dance Education from NYU, with a concentration in K- 12. Ms. Chapnick performed in numerous works during her undergraduate and graduate studies and has danced with New Jazz Ensemble, 2nd Avenue Dance Company, New Dance Collective and American Dance Art. In addition to teaching full time at JMSD for 9 years, Ms. Chapnick is an adjunct dance professor at CPCC. |

Kim
Williams began dancing at age nine at the Dance Gallery
in Lawrence, Kansas. For four years she competed and performed
as a member of the Dance Gallery Troupes throughout the U.S.
and in Europe. In 2002 Kim graduated from the University
of North Carolina where she was a member of the UNC Dance
Team for two years. Kim has judged both dance and cheerleading
competitions all across the country and is a Silver Level
certified Ballroom Dancer. Her choreography has received
numerous awards at both regional and national competitions.
This is Kim’s 7th year teaching and her 5th year at
JMSD. |

Meredith
Roy began dancing at age 2 under Carolyn Dutra, a
former Radio City Rockette. In her college years she began
studying Modern Dance at Keene State College in New Hampshire,
and ended at the College of Charleston where she earned her
B.A. in Arts Management. Meredith's performance experience
includes Epcot Center and Universal Studios, England and
Wales, Carnegie Hall, Nutcracker on Broadway, Sean Curran's
another Metal Garden in Montréal, The Robert Ivey
Ballet, American College Dance Festival, Piccolo Spoleto
Festival USA as well as numerous recitals and dance concerts.
Her choreography has been in the Piccolo Spoleto Festival
USA, American College Dance Festival, and The Robert Ivey
Ballet. Meredith is celebrating her third season at JMSD!

Nicole
Papciak received a BFA in Dance Education from UNC
Charlotte. She has been teaching dance and acrobatics for
23 years. Nicole has been the department chair at Northwest
School of the Arts and at Queens University. She was a scholarship
student at the American Dance Festival and was a founding
member of Brosseau Danceworks. Nicole has been teaching with
JMSD for thirteen years. |

Jesse Lynn Kopp is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she received a BFA in Dance Performance. Jesse Lynn has trained at Lou Conte's in Chicago, Steps in NYC, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Ruth Page Center for the Arts in Chicago, Alvin Ailey, and also with such great teachers as David Howard, Larry Long and the famous Ann Reinking. Some of her favorite roles were "Pas de Deux from Le Corsaire", "Pas de Trois from Paquita" "Steam Heat from Pajama Games" and "Cell Block Tango from Chicago". She has taught in Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, and North Carolina. Jesse Lynn also worked at the theatre 'Trumpet in the Land' in Ohio where she was in "Grease", "Trumpet in The Land", "The White Savage" and "A Night of Dancing". |

Sybil Michele Manzano began her formal ballet training at the Florida Ballet Arts School at age 13. During that time, her summers were spent at the Boston Ballet School, The Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory and the Sarasota Ballet. She began her professional career at the Bay Ballet Theatre in Tampa, Fl. and the Sarasota Ballet of Florida, performing many soloist roles. Mrs. Manzano currently performs with Columbia City Ballet in South Carolina. Her teaching experience includes South Carolina Performing Arts Center, Columbia Conservatory of Dance, Bonita’s School of Ballet, Ballet Classique, Starz Choice Dance Academy, Weir Dancing, teaching assistant at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, Eliot Feld’s New School also in NYC, and has been a permanent guest teacher at Florida Ballet Arts Academy since 2002. This is Sybil’s 3rd year at JMSD. |
