Studio Holidays and General Schedule

Our dance year runs from September through May. Registrations for the dance year are typically accepted through December 1st, with extended registration available for our youngest dancers in our combination classes until February 1st. Summer camp registration begins in the spring of each year.

Thanksgiving: We will close after classes on Tuesday, November 20th and resume classes on Monday, November 26th.

Christmas/Holiday Break: We will close after classes on Thursday, December 20th and resume classes on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013.

Martin Luther King Holiday: We will be closed on Monday, January 21st, 2013.

Easter / Spring Break: We will close the studio after classes on Thursday, March 28th and resume classes on Monday, April 8th, 2013.

Inclement Weather: Inclement weather: If the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools are closed, we will be closed for the morning classes. Please call the studio at noon at 704-525-6555 for a recorded message of our decision for the afternoon and evening classes for that day.

For the safety and health of our students and staff, please do not send your child to class if there is an indication of fever or flu-like symptoms. We can always find a class for you to attend to make up any missed dance classes.

We do not close the studio for teacher workdays as scheduled by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

All classes start and end at the published class times. However, teachers may take a few minutes at either the beginning or end of class to take care of administrative duties such as taking roll, addressing parent questions, making announcements, etc.

Tuition

Tuition for lessons is an annual fee, which can be paid as:

Monthly payments: by check, credit card or draft, due on the 1st of each month September through May.
Quarterly (three month’s tuition) due on September 1, December 1, and March 1.

Late Fee: Tuition is due on the 1st of the month. A $15 late fee will be added if not received by the 15th.
We offer the convenience of paying your tuition with your Visa, MasterCard, check, or automatic draft. If you choose the automatic draft, please send us a voided check and we will draft your account the 1st of each month.The annual fee is based on the length of the weekly class(es). A technique class such as ballet, jazz, or tap taken as a second class has a reduced rate. If you withdraw from a class or make a change in classes, please notify us in writing by using a drop/add card available in the studio lobby. Missed classes may be made up. Please check with your instructor for an appropriate class to attend for a make-up.

Parent Observation

We welcome parent observation anytime. You will find viewing windows outside of each dance room. For the benefit of student concentration and the protection of our professional dance floors, we ask that observation be done from the viewing windows. We will have a special Parent Observation Week during the week of February 13th, 2012. You are invited into the classrooms that week to see what we have been doing and to preview the spring concert dances.

Class Attire

Dancers may wear any color or style of leotard and tights to most classes. Laces and/or ribbons should be tucked into the ballet slippers. Do not wear dangling earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. into class. Hair should be neat, away from your face, and up off of your neck (this allows for free movement and allows the instructors to better see a dancer's alignment). Older students should wear a cover-up when arriving/departing the studio.

Ballet Technique:
Girls- Black leotard with pink tights, ballet shoes, hair off face and in a bun
Boys- White t-shirt, black shorts or pants, ballet shoes

Jazz Technique:
Girls- Any color leotard or dance top, black jazz pants or tights, jazz shoes or black ballet shoes, NO SHORTS
Boys- White t-shirt, black shorts or jazz pants, jazz shoes or black ballet shoes

Modern Technique:
Girls- Any color leotard, black pants or capris or tights, NO SHORTS (knees must be covered), bare feet
Boys- White t-shirt, black pants, bare feet

Tap Technique:
Girls- Any dancewear, tap shoes (no dresses or blue jeans)
Boys- Any dancewear, tap shoes

Hip Hop Technique:
Girls and Boys- Any clothing comfortable to move in (knees must be covered), hip hop shoes or sneakers

We have a fully stocked dance shop, which carries all necessary dancewear and shoes.
