Emily Wingard
Emily Wingard was born and raised in Cary, NC. She graduated in May, 2017 from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management. Emily began dancing at the age of four and started competitive dancing at the age of 12. She was on a competitive team at CC and Company Dance Complex in Raleigh for six years and traveled to national competitions in both New York and LA. While at USC, she was a member of the Carolina Girls Dance Team for three years and served as captain of the team her senior year. As a member of the USC dance team she performed at home football and basketball games as well as competed at NDA national collegiate competition. While in Columbia, SC, Emily also further developed her dance instructor experience by teaching at Palmetto performing arts for two years. Training dancers in styles of ballet jazz and contemporary. Emily recently spent a year teaching dance genres of contemporary, ballet, jazz, drill, and kick at a large studio in Dallas, Texas. Throughout her dance career Emily has had the opportunity to work with reknown choreographers such as Travis wall, Sonya tayeh and Mandy Moore. Her dance career has included many professional performance opportunities such as dancing at celebrity weddings and as a backup dancer for musical artist, Iyaz during one of his local tours. Emily has developed a love for teaching and has a huge passion for dancing that she hopes to instill into each one of her students.
