Samantha weekly
Samantha Weekly's Dance Biography Samantha has been dancing since she was able to walk, beginning her official dance training with Showcase Dance Centre at 18 months old, after Samantha's mother dropped the two oldest sisters off at dance class and Samantha refused to leave the studio. Samantha performed her first recital for Showcase Dance Centre on her second birthday. She continued to study ballet, tap and jazz, until being promoted to the competition team at the age of twelve. From that point, she expanded her style repertoire to include lyrical, contemporary, modern and hip-hop. After competing for four years, Samantha auditioned for North Carolina Dance Theatre's 2009 Summer Intensive. Upon concluding six weeks in this training program, Samantha auditioned for North Carolina Dance Theatre's Ballet 3 level. Samantha studied there until the age of seventeen, at which time she was forced to put her training on hold due to an injury. Samantha is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Art in Dance. During her time studying at UNCC, her concentration was ballet, studying under Professors, Delia Neil, Gretchen Alterowitz and Melissa Coyle. If Samantha has learned anything through her experience as a dancer and her studies at UNCC, it's the value of students understanding their anatomical structure (such as: muscles and joints) and being taught to approach ballet, as well as other dances forms with an injury prevention methodology. New to Jami Masters School of Dance, Samantha is excited to share her insight and passion for dance with her students. .
