Sterling Masters-DeeneySterling Masters returns to JMSD directly after performing on Broadway and National Tours for 18 years. Credits include WICKED (Dance Captain/Witch’s Mother), A CHORUS LINE (1st National, Original Cast), JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (Dance Captain), THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (Dance Captain), and FOSSE. Sterling trained here at JMSD under the direction of her mother, Jami. She also attended programs at North Carolina School of the Arts, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, Kirov Academy of Ballet, and Ann Reinking’s Broadway Theatre Project. She is a former Petite Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Dance of North Carolina for Carolina Dance Masters, and was the first dancer (and still 1 of 2 dancers) in NC to hold all 4 titles. In addition to her professional performing career, Sterling has always loved teaching and coaching dance students at JMSD and all over the country. She is an American Ballet Theatre certified teacher, holds a children’s yoga certification with Yogi Beans and is a member of Dance Masters of America. Sterling is so happy to be “home” at JMSD! |
