Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn various tap styles, from Broadway to Rhythm Tap. Exercises focus on building coordination, speed of movement, and sound. The class emphasizes developing proper tap techniques and producing clear tap sounds. |

(even when a dancer moves up grade levels)
Pre-School Tap
Pre-school combo classes involving tap are not leveled. Enroll in the class corresponding to your child’s age as of September 5th.
1st-3rd/4th-6th TapThese tap classes have two levels: Tap 1 and Tap 2. To be enrolled in Tap 2, your child must be placed in that level by a JMSD teacher. If coming from a combo class, enroll in Tap 1. |
Teen TapTap for Teens has two levels: Teen Tap 1 and Teen Advanced Tap. To enroll in Teen Advanced Tap, one must be placed in the class by a JMSD teacher. Teen Tap 1 is for Beginner and Intermediate tappers. |
