Trica Johnson
Born and raised right here in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trica’s passion and love for dance began at age four. Trained in the technical dancing styles of Jazz, Tap, Ballet/Pointe, Acro/Gym, Hip Hop, and Lyrical, she has danced as a competitive dancer, traveling around the United States for 15 years. Trica considered herself to be a leader when she was young. She put her leadership skills to work when she was named the Captain of the inaugural dance team at her high school. In college, she continued to pursue her dancing dreams and became a member of the Charlotte 49er’s Gold Dusters Dance Team. She danced for four years at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and competed at National Collegiate Dance competitions. Throughout college, Trica competed in multiple Miss America scholarship pageants where she was crowned Miss Mount Holly, Miss Raleigh, and Miss Mecklenburg County. Trica has won numerous talent awards for her dancing, she has danced in many musicals, and has served as a judge and choreographer for many high school dance teams in the Charlotte area . Trica is thrilled to be an instructor and will have a positive influence on all of the students at Jami Masters School of Dance.
